  • 1. Overview

    Astec Paints Sydney is a branch of Astec Paints Australasia, manufacturing 'Coating Systems' for the commercial and residential construction markets. With a "Housing Boom" in Sydney, the sales team were struggling with an unsustainable approach to capitalise on new sales and there was an urgent need to build a robust system incorporating; operations and marketing into the overall visibility of the company to allow for growth, communications and resource utilisation. As a result profitability was suffering and product awareness in a monopolised and price driven market was extremely challenging to navigate.

  • 2. Challenges

    The ability to work cohesively between - sales, marketing, operations and management became blurred and siloed. The transfer of information (data, site photos, construction plans, enquires and customer service communications) was time consuming and complex. Following up leads was difficult to understand during the stages of the "Construction Lifecycle" - demolition, excavation and construction. Haphazard sales strategy - inability to focus on viable projects, client details and needs. Hindrance to adopt new methodologies and technology by staff members created confusion, anxiety of everyday duties. Ability to service multiple customers was complex. Need for a company-wide platform, that allowed real-time clarity of project - status, communications, responsibilities across dept’s & teams. With visibility to simply oversee and clearly schedule orders, logistics and salespeople to projects that had greater opportunities for sale conversion.     Astec Paints adopted an approach which utilised satellite services in conjunction with a bespoke digital transformation solution, encompassing departmental workflows and processes which provided clarity of the "Construction Lifecycle" (Demolition, Excavation, Construction) enabling Sales, Marketing and Customer care to work together with real-time updates on relevant projects via means of business mobility and automation.
