Helping a kids team joining the dots

  • 1. Overview

    Living Hope Church Camperdown is a Not-For-Profit organisation that supports the local community and provides programmes that nurtures unity in diversity through food rescue, community food charity, Sunday services and Sunday school classes for children. Kids Alive children’s program was struggling to manage outdated teaching resources like CDs, DVD’ and technology and audio equipment, which weekly created a level of complexity in the preparation of the classroom, causing technical issues, frustrated teachers/volunteers, delayed classes and uninterested children.

  • 2. Challenges

    Redeploying redundant teaching materials whilst simultaneously, up skilling a diverse range of volunteers and reducing manual operations in classroom preparation. Converting video files/lessons into a ‘Portal’ for content management. Redesigning teaching solutions through mobile devices. Minimise complexity and processes in lesson preparation for teachers/volunteers.

  • 3. Solution

    Kids volunteers found that digitising their teaching resources and creating a digital platform transformed the way teaching resources were accessed/shared and collaborated with by teams, whllst streamlining the lesson preparation and delivery.

  • 4. Results

    The changes had a highly positive effect on collaborative work in pre-lesson and on teaching outcomes. Ability to concentrate more on the children and their needs during the lessons. Automation saved an incredible amount of time and made collaboration much more enjoyable because so many manual steps had been reduced with mobility adding another level of engagement. Utilising cloud infrastructure, the newly-deployed digital transformation platform laid the foundation for more ideas and innovations.
